Nepal Stuns England with Historic Win in Hong Kong Sixes Cricket Debut

Nepal achieved a historic victory over England in the Hong Kong Sixes Cricket on Friday.

Captain Sandeep Jora led Nepal to defeat three-time champion England by six wickets in their opening match with an explosive batting display.

After Jora scored 50 runs, Nepal chased the target of 98 runs without losing a wicket in just 4.2 overs.

This is Nepal’s debut in the Hong Kong Sixes tournament, and they’ve made an impressive start. Jora reached 50 runs off 12 balls, hitting three fours and six sixes before retiring.

Similarly, Rashid Khan remained unbeaten, scoring 21 runs off 5 balls with two fours and two sixes. Lokesh Bam scored 20 runs from 11 balls, including one four and two sixes.

Earlier, after losing the toss, England batted first at Mong Kok ground, scoring 97 runs for the loss of six wickets in 5.5 overs. Captain Ravi Bopara scored the highest with 49 runs, hitting one four and seven sixes, while Samit Patel made 39 runs off 17 balls with three fours and three sixes. Other batsmen couldn’t reach double digits.

In bowling, Pratish GC was impressive for Nepal, taking three wickets in two overs at the cost of 18 runs.

Rashid Khan, Narayan Joshi, and Vivek Yadav each took a wicket, while Rashid was the only bowler without a wicket.

In Group B, Nepal will now face Australia on Sunday.
